Mr. G. M. Kakpori, who hails from the Ladakh Region of Jammu & Kashmir, has a Masters Degree in Biological Sciences and is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society of London. He has been associated with J&K Tourism for about 30 years in various management & administrative positions. He was the 1995 PATA Foundation scholar from India for advanced studies in visitor management at heritage sites and Nature Reserves in the UK under the aegis of the English Heritage, the National Trust for Scotland and the Scottish Tourist Board. He is widely travelled in UK, Europe & within India in connection with the study and promotion of tourism.

G. M. Kakpori now promotes and heads Caravan Travels & Tours, a destination management agency based at Leh. Its website www.ExploreLadakh.in, which he authors and edits, is an earnest attempt to provide wholesome and authentic information on Ladakh and other contiguous trans-Himalayan regions for travelers and explorers.
